Forty years in glass. Signs that never fade.
We are Monica and David Huber, a husband-and-wife team in Beaumont, Texas. Monica is the artist. Every sign and address we make is kiln-fired glass set in cement, and it carries our lifetime Never Fade warranty.
From church windows to beach houses
Monica owned and operated Beaumont Leaded Glass for 30 years before we founded The Glass Tattoo Sign Company in 2015. She designed, built and installed stained glass across Southeast Texas - hundreds of church windows, entry doors and windows - and earned a reputation with homeowners and builders alike.
Much of that work was kiln-fired: images hand painted in ceramic pigments and fired into the glass. Glass artists have used this method for centuries, and church windows made this way still hold their color hundreds of years later.
We set out to bring that same permanence outdoors. Today Monica's artwork is printed in glass frit instead of ink, fired at 1280 degrees, mounted on Hardie board and set in cement. The result is a sign or address that will not fade in the sun.
Living close to the coast, Monica's designs lean toward fun beach-home signs, and custom requests keep the library growing, inland designs included. Builders and realtors give them as closing gifts.
Monica
Paints the artwork, cuts the glass, transfers each image section onto the glass and supervises every sign through the kiln.
David
Runs the website and the books, cuts the Hardie board and handles production in the workshop.
